Most people don't think about the meanings of flowers before sending them, but in other times, when people communicated more through symbols and gestures, flowers and the meanings they carried were extremely important and conveyed the perfect sentiment for any occasion.

Husband
This obviously depends on the reason you are giving the flowers to your lady. A token of love, thoughtful reflection, a nice surprise or perhaps for a more provocative and apologetic reason.
Suppose you offer her flowers just because you love her. It doesn't take much knowledge about it to think that roses are the flowers of love. (which is why they are the most sent flowers on Valentine's Day).
There is 'that something' about roses (beautiful appearance and subtle scent) that makes them the most suitable flowers to express your true love.
Mom
Did you know that a pink carnation symbolizes the love of a woman, especially a mother? Or that a rose is also a popular choice to offer mom? According to history, roses were a sacred symbol of the goddess Isis, who was considered an ideal mother. But let's not forget they also have ties to the Virgin Mary.
If we're honest though, your mum will be excited to receive any kind of bouquet from her children, so you can always choose something you know she likes.
Colleague
There are some occasions when it is appropriate to give a female colleague a bouquet of flowers. Perhaps she has just had a baby, maybe she has achieved a goal or even because she is leaving work.
Think about and choose a bouquet that comes in a vase so she can proudly display it in her office. Choose colors such as orange and yellow, as orange increases oxygen supply to the brain and stimulates mental activity. Yellow is a cheerful and energetic color that will brighten up her office.
First date
You don't want to overdo it on the first date, so save the roses for an anniversary and go for something more subtle after the first date. A set of lilies that symbolize leaving after a good time and gladiolas that call for remembrance are ideal choices especially when paired together.
