What to do after you receive your bouquet - 10 steps to keep your bouquet fresh for longer

You've just been given (or given yourself!) a lovely bouquet of flowers for congratulations, for the celebration or the birthday and now you are wondering "How to keep your bouquet fresh and beautiful"? What exactly do I need to do to make it look good and last? How can it look as fresh and beautiful as the first day? The following ten steps will show you exactly how to achieve it. 

1. Fill your jar with some clean water. You don't need a lot of water, 1/4 of the jar or enough so that all the stems are in the water.
2. Remove any plastic from the packaging in which you received your flowers
3. Cut each stem diagonally so that your flowers can "drink" water more easily. If you don't want to shorten your flowers too much, you can cut them just a little, as long as the cut is diagonal.  
4. Put the flowers in the water immediately.
5. Make sure that there are no leaves that touch or are in water, because as they will be damaged, they will spoil the rest of your bouquet.
6. If any of the outer petals are starting to look a little "sad", remove them and your flowers will immediately look fresher. Also remove any leaves or stems that look wilted.
7. Keep your bouquet away from very low or high temperatures and away from heat sources (radiators, heaters, etc.)
8. Avoid placing your bouquet in a place where it will be exposed to direct sunlight, as this will help it to wilt faster.
9. When the water in your jar starts to become cloudy, refresh it with fresh, clean water after washing the jar thoroughly to remove any bacteria that may have built up.
10. Add some vitamin C to the water to help the flowers last longer and look healthy.
